HOW TO BYPASS LOGIN SCREEN IN WINDOWS 10

This tutorial details how to bypass login screen in Windows 10. Almost all of the Operating Systems these days are multi-user, and hence, can be used by more than one user, with separate settings, profiles etc., for each user. The same is true for Microsoft’s latest offering, Windows 10 as well. There are different types (administrator, standard user etc.) of accounts supported in Windows 10, and each can be secured with, among other things, passwords.

As you probably already know, to access a password protected Windows user account, you have to enter the password associated with it at the login screen. While this is perfectly alright, having to enter the password every time at the login screen can also be quite a hassle, especially if there is only one account on the computer, used by one user.

Time to rejoice, as Windows 10 conveniently lets you bypass the login screen and boot directly to your account. Sounds fun? Let’s find out how you can bypass login screen in Windows 10.
How To Bypass Login Screen In Windows 10?

Bypassing the login screen in Windows 10 is super simple, and works for both local accounts and Microsoft accounts. Here’s a step by step tutorial, illustrating how to do it:

Step 1: Open the Run prompt (use the Win+R hotkey combination for this), type in netplwiz, and press Enter to access the advanced User Accounts configuration pane.
Step 2: The advanced User Accounts configuration pane lets you tinker with a number of user accounts related settings. On the default Users tab, you’ll see a list of all the active user accounts for the computer, along with the user group they belong to. Simply uncheck the box against the Users must enter a username and password to use this computer option. When the confirmation prompt comes up, enter your account credentials again. When done, click Apply > OK. Check out the screenshot below:
That’s it. Once you Reboot your computer, Windows 10 will no longer ask you to enter your password at the login screen. Instead, it will bypass the login screen and straightaway boot to the desktop. Pretty cool, don’t you think?

Wrapping Up

The ability to bypass login screen and directly boot to the desktop is a small but really useful feature. It can save you quite some time while getting started with your work, especially if there’s only a single account actively used on the computer.
